Delicious Treats on the Disney Cruise Line

Everyone knows that you can eat and eat on a cruise, but since you definitely can’t have everything, it’s important to know the best treats. There are so many delicious treats on the Disney Cruise Line – here are some of our favorites.

Note that these may not be available on all of the ships. Some are specific to a venue on one particular ship.

Delicious Treats on the Disney Cruise Line

Mickey Bars

Mickey bars are popular in the parks, and you can also get them on the Disney Cruise Line. We always make sure to have at least one or two of these iconic treats on every trip! They are included in the cost of the Disney Cruise, so you can have as many as you’d like – but be sure to save room for some of the other great treats. Since they are fairly ubiquitous, you may want to try something different.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I absolutely love the chocolate chip cookies onboard the Disney Cruise Line. You can get them through room service, or at the buffet at Cabanas. They are great with milk for a nighttime snack too! We typically grab one or two as we head out of the buffet.

Dole Whip with rum

Dole Whips

Dole Whips are a relatively new addition to the treats on the Disney Cruise Line, although they’ve always been favorites at the theme parks. They are available as is (nonalcoholic), or with Myers Dark Rum, Shipwreck Spiced, or Vanilla Rum. On the Disney Dream, you can find them at Frozone Treats, adjacent to Eye Scream.

Both the non-alcoholic and the alcoholic versions do cost extra, so keep that in mind. I usually try to have one on my cruise. While not exclusive to Disney, Dole Whips do have an enthusiastic following, so it’s nice to have the option to get one on a Disney cruise.

Traveling to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on your cruise? If you drink alcohol, try the Eleuthera Euphoria drink, Lookout Cay’s signature drink. It’s a delicious blend of Dole Whip and rum.

Soft Serve at Eye Scream (Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream on the Disney Wish)

Free ice cream all day? My kids can’t walk by Eye Scream on the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy without grabbing a cone of soft-serve ice cream. It’s a fun little treat that reminds you how great cruising really can be.

On the Disney Wish, you’ll find free ice cream at Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream, located in the Mickey & Friends Festival of Food area.

You’ll also find free ice cream at the various BBQ buffets at Castaway Cay, and you can always get it for dessert at each meal.

Vanellope Von Schweetz’s Race Kart Sundae

Gelato at Vanellope’s (extra fee, currently only available at the Disney Dream)

One of the Disney Dream updates was adding Vanellope’s Sweet Shop. Items in the shop are offered for an extra fee, but the gelato is a yummy treat. Ice cream and other desserts are also available.

For a special treat, check out the Vanellope Von Schweetz’s Race Kart Sundae with three scoops of ice cream and five toppings. You can even have it delivered to your dining room for your after-dinner dessert.

Gelato (and Other Treats) at Inside Out: Joyful Sweets (only on the Disney Wish)

Similar to Vanellope’s, Inside Out: Joyful Sweets offers gelato, cupcakes, candy, macarons, and more. These treats aren’t included in the price of your cruise, so you’ll have to pay extra.

Chocolate Souffle at Palo

I love visiting Palo with my husband (it’s adults only, and an extra fee applies, (unless you are a platinum or pearl Castaway Club member). The chocolate soufflé is my favorite dessert to have on the ship. It has a delicious vanilla sauce and is the perfect end to a fantastic dinner.

Cookies n Cream sundae

Cookies N Cream Sundae

Animator’s Palate on the Disney Dream, the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder, the Disney Wish, and the Disney Fantasy offer their own version of the cookies and cream sundae, and it’s so good. My kids love this one too. I’ll even request it at my other dinners because it’s so good.

Cold Brew Coffee on the Disney Cruise Line

Cold Brew Coffee in the Cove Cafe (extra fee)

This isn’t a dessert, but it’s still a treat for coffee lovers. When I was last on the Disney Dream, they had the Yama cold brew system, which makes great coffee that isn’t at all bitter.

There’s an extra fee for coffee in the Cove, but it’s worth it. All four ships have a Cove Cafe in the adult-only section of the ship.

Six beignets with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce

Beignets at Tiana’s

When dining at Tiana’s on the Disney Wonder, you’ll get the option to order yummy beignets for dessert. They were so good that I ended up asking for them at every meal – even when we weren’t at Tiana’s!

The Bayou, a New Orleans-themed bar on the Disney Wish, also offers beignets, which can be optionally ordered with chocolate dipping sauces. However, the beignets at the Bayou do cost extra.

Fry Pan Sweet Bread at Rapunzel’s on the Disney Magic

This fun restaurant on Disney Magic offers one of my favorite desserts: the Fry Pan Sweet Bread. It comes in a frying pan and tastes similar to a beignet. You’ll want to try it.

Donut on top of ice cream sundae

Pym Doughnut Sundae, World of Marvel on the Disney Wish

This sundae, which includes dulce de leche ice cream, a pecan brownie, and a delicious mini donut, is on the regular dessert menu.

When booking a Disney Cruise, I recommend booking with Get Away Today. Plus, when you mention Family Travel Magazine, you get an extra $25 on-board credit! Give their agents a call at 877-510-2929.

If you are cruising out of Port Canaveral and flying into MCO, we recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. Check prices and reviews here.
