Most people know about the beautiful Grace Bay white sand and turquoise waters at Beaches Turks and Caicos. But did you also know that this family-friendly, all-inclusive resort in Turks and Caicos offers a water park? This water park is called Pirates Island and is included in a stay at Beaches Turks and Caicos.

Guide to the Beaches Turks and Caicos Water Park: Pirates Island
Pirates Island Water Park is located toward the back of Beaches Resort, by the French Village. The water park does have some small lanai-style cabanas, as well as some lounge chairs. Like other areas of the resort, you’ll want to reserve those early to ensure availability.
Clean beach towels are offered right at the water park, and rafts for the lazy river and slides are also available. Otherwise, you won’t really need anything – water shoes, for instance, are not necessary (unless you want them to get from your hotel room to the water park).
Admission to the Pirates Island water park is included in your Beaches family vacation, and tickets for the water park aren’t sold separately. For our vacations, we typically would visit for an hour or two at a time, rather than the whole day.
Water Slides
As you’d expect to find at any water park, there are several different water slides at Pirates Island. There are three large slides, located right next to each other in the water park. You’ll bring your own rafts up the stairs and can choose a tandem raft or a single raft.
Once you land in the pool, you’ll have to get out right away so that the next guest can safely “land”. This pool isn’t for swimming.
There are also two smaller water slides located right near Bobby Dee’s. These aren’t for toddlers but would be best for those kids who find the three larger slides a bit too big.
Splash and Kids’ Play Area
In the middle of the lazy river is a pirate-themed splash area. Here, you’ll find water cannons, splash jets, and smaller water slides. This area is perfect for younger kids, and they will enjoy splashing around.
There’s also a separate splash area with water jets. Throughout our time in the water park, we always saw kids running around this area to cool off.
Little kids will also appreciate the zero-entry pool located in the water park. Although Beaches offers many pools throughout the resort, this one is great for really little ones.
Lazy river at Beaches Resort
I always love lazy rivers, so I appreciate the one in the center of the Beaches Turks and Caicos water park. Grab either a single or double raft along the side, and then you can enter the 650-foot lazy river from several different entry points.
During our visits, I did notice that the lazy river water was chillier than the water in the main pools. But it wasn’t cold, and it was very easy to get used to.
This is a mild lazy river, with a few waterfall areas that could be avoided. We would typically make a few rotations around the river before getting out.
SurfStream Surf Simulator
One of the most popular parts of the water park is the SurfStream Surf Simulator. My kids loved standing up and surfing.
After signing a waiver, you’ll put on a helmet and learn how to surf. The employees do a great job of helping you balance before letting you off on your own. You’ll have to be 52 inches to do the stand-up surfing.
There’s also the opportunity to do bodyboarding on the surf simulator. That has a height requirement of 42 inches.
Other activities at the Pirates Island Water Park
There are other activities at the Pirates Island Water Park. These include the open-air Port Royal game room, with air hockey, foosball, pool, and more. There’s also an X-Box lounge, filled with video games and screens.
The waterpark also offers a nightclub. It’s open to teens earlier in the evening and is adult-only at night.
Restaurants at the Beaches Water Park
If you get hungry with all of that action, there are some options right in the waterpark. Bobby Dee’s, a 50s-themed restaurant, is located inside the huge pirate ship. It offers an ice cream counter, popcorn, cotton candy, burgers, fries, pizza, and self-serve soft-serve ice cream.
Bobby Dee’s has both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s open from 11 am to 6 am, so it’s a great option for a late-night snack. In the pool right outside of Bobby Dee’s, there’s a swim-up bar, offering non-alcoholic specialties for kids.
There are also two food trucks. One, Mr. Mac, offers 10 different varieties of mac and cheese. The other, Curls n Swirls, offers ice cream.
Rooms by Water Park
Like all of the activities and amenities at Beaches, all of the rooms at the resort are fairly convenient to the waterpark. The most convenient is the French Village, which is right adjacent to the waterpark. During my second stay at the resort, we stayed in the French Village and loved the proximity to the water park.
While the resort does seem large, it doesn’t take too long to walk around. Therefore, you don’t need to be too concerned about the room location if you plan to visit the water park.
Water Activities Beyond the Water Park
Beyond the waterpark at Beaches, you’ll find many water activities. At the beach, for instance, you’ll find snorkeling, glass-bottom boat rides, water trikes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and scuba diving.
There are also six pools around the resort – four larger ones, and two smaller pools in the Key West Village. The Italian Village pool is the most active pool – with activities running throughout the day.
