Walt Disney World offers a lot for families – hotels, water parks, mini-golf, shows, characters, restaurants, and more. However, most families enjoy the rides and attractions the most. From thrill rides to themed attractions, there are so many options across the four theme parks at Walt Disney World.
In the posts below, you can read details about specific attractions, rides at each park, and some of the newer lands in the resort. Click on the link of the title below to go to a specific section.

Guide To Disney World Rides
As you start to put together the specific rides that you want to experience at Walt Disney World, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. Some of these attractions do have height requirements. If you are traveling with younger kids, you may want to look at these before you go, to avoid disappointment once you are there.
In addition, Walt Disney World recently retired its popular FastPass program in favor of a new paid program, Genie+. This program may change how you plan your vacation.
Worth the Line: The Best Rides at Disney World
If you are looking for a general list of must-ride attractions at Walt Disney World, start with this post. It contains an overview of our favorite rides at all four theme parks. It doesn’t just include thrill rides – it also includes iconic and fun attractions that are worth waiting in line for.
The Scariest Rides at Disney World
Disney World isn’t known for scary rides. However, there are some rides that could be considered scary – like dark rides that may frighten kids (like the Pirates of the Caribbean) to thrill rides that go upside down. This list can help you if you are hoping to find some rides to avoid with sensitive kids, or want to experience the biggest thrills.
Magic Kingdom Rides for Toddlers
Visiting Walt Disney World with a toddler? Most families with little kids visit the Magic Kingdom when they are at Walt Disney World. Toddlers can’t go on every ride, but this list will help you narrow down your options for Magic Kingdom rides.
A Complete Guide to the Magic Kingdom Rides
As the original Walt Disney World theme park (and home to the iconic Cinderella Castle), the Magic Kingdom is very popular. In addition to photo opportunities, shows, and characters, you’ll also find a lot of the most popular Disney rides, like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. Read our guide to all of these attractions.
A Guide to Epcot Rides and Attractions
If you’ve never been to Epcot before, you may think it’s just educational pavilions and the World Showcase. However, Epcot offers so many great rides and attractions – in all areas of the park.
Read about all of the Epcot Rides and Attractions, including Soarin’, Test Track, Spaceship Earth, and The Seas With Nemo and Friends. Use this guide to plan your vacation.
A Guide to Animal Kingdom Rides
When Animal Kingdom first opened at Walt Disney World, many people mistakingly thought it would be more of a zoo, rather than a theme park. While there are lots of animal and animal encounters at the park, there are also some really fun rides (including my favorite, Flight of Passage). Read our guide and then plan your visit.
Everything You Need to Know About Disney Pandora – The World of AVATAR
Several years ago, Walt Disney World opened a whole land in Animal Kingdom based on the Pandora movie. Pandora – The World of AVATAR offers two rides, a quick-service restaurant, gift shops, and beautiful scenery.
While we typically recommend popular locations at Walt Disney World first thing in the morning, I’d recommend going to Pandora at night as well. It’s beautifully lit up in the dark.
A Guide to Disney Hollywood Studios Rides and Attractions
Of all of the Disney theme parks, I love the rides at Hollywood Studios the best. If you can only go to one theme park and you love rides, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is where you’ll want to go. From the Tower of Terror to the Rock ‘N Roller Coaster, you can find some of the biggest thrills at Hollywood Studios. There are also several great lands in Hollywood Studios – see more information in these next two posts.
A Galaxy’s Edge Guide From a Non-Fan of Star Wars
Star Wars fans everywhere were thrilled when Disney announced plans to open Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Included in Galaxy’s Edge are two brand-new rides as well as a bar, quick service restaurant, gift shops, and more.
Not a Star Wars fan? Read our review and guide to Galaxy’s Edge from the perspective of a non-fan of Star Wars.
Review of Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World
Another new land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Toy Story Land, based on the iconic film from Disney Pixar. There are three rides in Toy Story Land – including Toy Story Mania, which was already in the park. In addition, you’ll find Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers. Read more on our website.
The Best Roller Coasters at Walt Disney World: Rated
Love roller coasters? While Disney isn’t always known for its coasters, there still are some thrilling and fun roller coasters. Here are the best roller coasters at Walt Disney World.
Guide to Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane
The new Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane have replaced the FastPass system at Walt Disney World. Read all about the best ways to use it.
Epcot Thrill Rides For An Exciting Theme Park Day
While EPCOT was initially thought of as a more educational park, rather than one with thrilling rides, that has changed as the park has evolved. Now, EPCOT is home to some of the best, most exciting rides at Walt Disney World. Here are some EPCOT thrill rides you can enjoy during your next family vacation.
Rating the Disney Tomorrowland Rides and Attractions
Visiting the Magic Kingdom? Check out our ratings of the attractions you’ll find there. When rating the Disney Tomorrowland rides and attractions, I looked at both thrills and nostalgia. In addition to the nostalgia, Tomorrowland also offers some of the best attractions at the Magic Kingdom.

I would like to see something about the best meals (and their locations) at Disney World. Also, a good breakdown of how best to make use of a Disney Meal Plan in each park.
I really love all the info on each park and the rides that you have written. Very useful info and informative.

Thanks for the feedback! The next time I visit the parks I will work on something like that!
