Guide to Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland and Disney World

In a theme park resort filled with immersive experiences, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge stands out. The completely new world of Batuu was created for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and while this world isn’t part of the movies, it does incorporate much of the Star Wars universe. While you are there, you will really feel like you’ve stepped into a Star Wars movie.

Within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (located at both Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida) is Oga’s Cantina, a Star Wars-themed bar offering light snacks. Whether you are a Star Wars fan or not, Oga’s Cantina is a great place to visit during your Disney vacation.

Despite being mostly a bar, Oga’s Cantina is open to guests of all ages. There are plenty of non-alcoholic and alcoholic options on the menu. Kids will especially like the innovative elements to the drinks – they are very themed and unique.

Disclosure: We’ve visited Disneyland and Walt Disney World at no cost and discounted cost over the years, but have also paid our own way. I’ve visited Oga’s Cantina three times and have always paid my own way. Guide to Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland and Disney World

Oga’s Cantina within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is meant to be a stop along the way for travelers and other guests to Batuu. Once you enter the doors, you are transported into a completely different world, complete with full Star Wars decor.

You’ll enjoy entertainment from DJ R-3X and will be surrounded by the theme. When I’m within the walls of Oga’s Cantina, I almost forget that I’m in a theme park. It really does feel like it’s own place.

I’ve visited Oga’s three times – twice at Disneyland and once at Walt Disney World. It’s fun to visit multiple times – you’ll likely spot something different each time. Even though I’m not specifically a Star Wars fan, I really appreciate the theming.

Location

Oga’s Cantina is located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. In Walt Disney World, this is in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while in Disneyland Resort in California, it’s at Disneyland Park.

Generally, you can look for the hostess stand and the line and you’ll find Oga’s Cantina.

Reservations

Advance reservations are accepted at Oga’s Cantina. Because it’s so popular, it’s recommended that you make reservations before your visit. That is the best way to save time.

However, if you didn’t make reservations, it is possible to get a standby spot. You may have to wait in a line for a little even if walk-in availability is offered. Check on the app or visit the hostess stand to get on the list.

Seating Process

The seating process at Oga’s Cantina is very unique. Seating is either provided at the bar, standing at high-top tables, or sitting at communal tables. Unless you are visiting with a very large group, you will likely be seated with other people. Every time that I’ve visited, it’s been very crowded.

If you are given a standing room space, you’ll get a specific section of the table to stand at. Your reservation at Oga’s Cantina is for 45 minutes – so you won’t be able to stay and linger.

The first and third time I visited Oga’s Cantina, I was seated at a table with other people. The second time I went, I was given a stand-up space at a high-top table.

Food and Drink

In addition to the fun environment, Oga’s Cantina offers some great themed drinks and light bites. You won’t be able to have a full meal at Oga’s, but you can have a snack.

Oga’s Cantina at Disneyland is a bit bigger than the version at Walt Disney World. In addition, there are some more food options as well as several additional drink options (including non-alcoholic drinks). With the food options at Disneyland, we were able to have a little more substantial snack than at Disney World.

Some of our favorite items include:

  • Batuu Wilds Bounty (Pastrami infused whipped cheese – only at Disneyland)
  • Garlic-Cheese Five Blossom Bread with Spicy Cheese Sauce (only at Disneyland)
  • Angry Bloody Rancor (Bloody Mary with candied bacon)

What You’ll See

Immediately after entering the automatic doors of Oga’s Cantina, you’ll be transported into this cantina world. The sights and sounds are completely immersive, and you’ll really feel like you are in the world of Star Wars.

You won’t be able to choose where you are seated, so your experience will vary depending on where you end up. The entire restaurant, however, is very themed so you’ll enjoy wherever you sit.

The highlight of the restaurant is the DJ R-3X audio-animatronic. It’s in a section above the main area, so you’ll be able to see him even if you aren’t right in front.

Why Should You Visit?

So, why should you visit Oga’s Cantina? It’s a fun diversion from a theme park day and is so incredibly themed that it’s great to see, even if you aren’t a Star Wars fan.

If you are visiting the Walt Disney World location, there are very limited food options, so it’s not a great place to visit if you are hungry. But there are some great drink options – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. So, it’s fun to visit if you want to have a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

The Disneyland location, however, is a little different. It offers more light-bite food options, so you can have a more substantial snack while you visit Oga’s. During my most recent Disneyland visit, I had a large breakfast and went to Oga’s for a light lunch before a large, early dinner.

Just keep in mind that it is a popular place. If you want to visit, I’d recommend making reservations to secure your spot.

Is Oga’s Worth It?

Ultimately this is up to you, depending on the time you have available and your vacation budget. I recommend visiting it if you can, because it is such a fun immersive experience. While the drinks are expensive, you can have just a quick drink while enjoying the atmosphere.
