In January 2024, Royal Caribbean unveiled its newest section of Perfect Day at CocoCay. Hideaway Beach is an adult-only beach club area of the island, offered for an additional fee. Read more about Hideaway Beach here.
Note that we’ve gone on complimentary media sailings on Royal Caribbean but paid our own way for both this cruise and Hideaway Beach.
What Is Perfect Day at CocoCay?
Perfect Day at CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s private destination in the Bahamas. This island is only visited by two Royal Caribbean ships daily, exclusive to Royal Caribbean. There are many activities and amenities on the island – both paid and unpaid – and plenty of beach chairs in the free area where you won’t pay anything to visit.
How to Visit Hideaway Beach
If you want to visit Hideaway Beach, the new adult-only beach club, you’ll need to reserve your spot. I recommend doing it online before your visit—and keep an eye on the prices because there are often some great sales. Once you arrive at Perfect Day, you’ll walk to the end of the pier and then catch the tram to Hideaway Beach.
Amenities at Hideaway Beach
Hideaway Beach is a big party, with a huge pool, DJ, and swim-up bar. This area is the busiest, so arrive early if you want a seat at the pool. There is also a lagoon area, a separate bar, two food venues, and many beach chairs and umbrellas. Note that while you pay a fee to enter Hideaway Beach, all seating (except for the cabanas) is first-come, first-served.
Upgrades at Hideaway Beach
For an extra splurge, guests can book a cabana at Hideaway Beach. Some are in the “hideout” area and some right by the pool. This is the best way to guarantee seating in a specific area and a great way to get shade if needed. You’ll want to book your cabana as soon as possible before your trip.
Food at Hideaway Beach
If you have the beverage package, you can use it throughout Perfect Day at CocoCay. Servers walk around the chairs all day, so you don’t have to leave your seat. There are also two food venues – Slice of Paradise and Hideaway Hut. I enjoyed my ceviche at Hideaway Hut, but there were many other options.
Is Hideaway Beach Worth It?
It really depends. There are plenty of places on the island where you can enjoy the beach at no extra cost. So, you’ll want to take advantage of the DJ, elevated food, and pool to get value. You may also enjoy the kid-free environment. Just remember it is more of a vibrant, not serene, environment. I enjoyed my visit and will purchase admission again in the future.
