Beaches Turks and Caicos is an excellent option for families looking for a luxurious, convenient tropical Caribbean vacation. This all-inclusive resort has a water park, a spa, beach access, kids’ clubs, many restaurant options, several pools, and more. You can spend the whole week there, and the entire family will find something fun to do each day.
Disclosure: My first three-night stay at Beaches was complimentary as part of an event. Our second and fourth stays were at our own expense and on our third stay, we paid our own way but did receive a room upgrade. All opinions are my own. Villages at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort
While the Beaches Turks and Caicos resort has separate villages, guests of any village can access the entire resort—including restaurants and amenities. It’s a large resort but also walkable, so don’t worry too much about which village you choose. Affordability and room type, in my opinion, are the most important factors.
When booking a room or suite at Beaches Turks and Caicos, you’ll find standard rooms, concierge rooms, and butler rooms. Concierge rooms include benefits such as access to the resort concierges to book the reservation-only restaurant Kimonos, daily snorkeling trips, glass-bottom boats, a Dad and Me basketball shootout, a concierge lounge, and restocking of in-room bars.
Butler rooms are the ultimate in luxury. You’ll have access to a dedicated butler who will set you up with a pool cabana or beachfront seats each day and bring you food while you enjoy the sun. In addition, they will escort you to the restaurants you choose for dinner.
Beaches is a family-friendly resort, although some adults choose to go without kids. While some room types are designated as “honeymoon”, these are still very family-friendly options that are great for more than two guests.
Italian Village
The Italian Village is right in the center of Beaches Turks and Caicos, making it an appealing place to stay. The front of the village is located along the beach, with a large, lively pool in the center. The Italian Village pool is the busiest and most active – but it’s also the most difficult to get seating at.
Here are some of the room types at the Italian Village:
- Italian Beachfront Two Bedroom Walkout Butler Family Suite
- Italian Beachfront Penthouse Two Bedroom Imperial Butler Family Suite
- Italian Beachfront Two Bedroom Butler Family Suite
- Italian Oceanview Penthouse Two Bedroom Butler Family Suite
- Italian Two Bedroom Poolside Walkout Butler Family Suite
- Italian Oceanview Two Bedroom Butler Family Suite
- Italian Two Bedroom Butler Family Suite
- Italian Oceanfront Walkout Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room
- Italian Oceanfront Penthouse Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room
- Italian Oceanfront Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room
- Italian Penthouse Oceanview Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room
- Italian Poolside Walkout Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room
- Italian Oceanview Concierge Family Suite with Kids Room
- Italian Concierge Family Suite with Kids’ Room
During one of our stays, we received a complimentary upgrade to a concierge family suite with kids’ room. This room type is perfect for a family – there’s a separate kids’ room with bunk beds and a separate main bedroom. These rooms are in a central location, next to the popular Italian Village pool.
There are lots of great restaurants in the Italian Village. These include:
- Mario’s Italian Cuisine – an Italian restaurant offering a buffet and other entrees at dinner as well as breakfast
- Barefoot by the Sea – sit at a picnic table with your feet in the sand at this seafood restaurant (offering other options)
- The Cricketers Pub – a British-style pub with traditional English food as well as pool tables
- Dinos – an outdoor spot offering brick-oven pizza
- Courtyard Bistro – hamburgers, hot dogs, and other snack foods
- Bombay Club – offering Indian food at dinner
French Village
The French Village is in the back of the resort, furthest from the beach. It is still a pretty quick walk to the waterfront, but these rooms don’t have ocean views.
It is closest to the Pirate Island waterpark, the Xbox play lounge, the Red Lane Spa and Fitness Center, the jungle room game room, the food trucks, and a few restaurants. There’s also the French Village pool, which is large, but less busy than the Italian Village pool.
Room types at the French Village include the following:
- French Village Three Bedroom Concierge Suite (sleeps 14 – excellent for large families)
- French Village Two Bedroom Concierge Suite (sleeps 11)
- French Village One Bedroom Concierge Suite (sleeps 7)
- French Village Luxury Walkout Room King (sleeps 4, with a twin daybed/trundle and king bad)
- French Village Luxury Walkout Room Double (sleeps 4)
- French Village Luxury Room King (sleeps 4 with a twin daybed/trundle and king bed)
- French Village Luxury Room Double (sleeps 4)
We reserved a French Village Luxury Walkout Room Double during our first visit to Beaches Turks and Caicos. It’s a small room with two double beds and a pullout daybed. This is one of the more affordable options, and it’s nice and convenient to the water park.
Restaurants in the French Village include:
- Bobby Dee’s – late-night diner food
- Le Petit Chateau – French cuisine with both indoor and outdoor options
- Guiseppe’s – casual Italian offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Soy – an outdoor sushi restaurant that is open for dinner
- Cafe de Paris – a patisserie offering dessert and coffee
- Kimonos – a teppanyaki restaurant that is the only restaurant requiring reservations
- Food trucks – two food trucks, Curls ‘N Swirls and Mr. Mac, located in the water park
Key West Village
The Key West Village is the newest village at Beaches Turks and Caicos. It was previously an independent resort that was acquired, but despite that, it now blends right in with the resort’s look and feel.
Key West is at one of the resort’s furthest ends. It has beachfront access but the smallest, quieter pools.
The rooms are nice here, and it feels like one of the resort’s more luxurious, quieter parts. This is where you’ll find some of the largest rooms on the property – great for larger families or multi-generational groups.
Room types include:
- Key West Luxury Concierge Room
- Key West One Bedroom Concierge Villa Suite
- Key West One Bedroom Concierge Suite
- Key West Luxury One Bedroom Concierge Suite
- Key West Oceanview One Bedroom Concierge Suite
- Key West Two Bedroom Concierge Suite
- Key West Two Story Two Bedroom Concierge Suite
Key West Oceanview Two Story, Two Bedroom Butler Suite - Key West Three Bedroom Gardenview Butler Villa
- Key West Oceanview Three Bedroom Butler Villa
- Key West Four Bedroom Butler Villa Residence
- Key West Oceanview Four Bedroom Butler Villa Residence
- Key West Beachfront Four Bedroom Butler Villa Residence with Private Pool
There are also a few shops and restaurants right in the Key West Village area. These include:
- Bayside Restaurant – a beachside restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Sky Lounge – beautiful breakfast restaurant with great views
- Neptunes – waterfront restaurant with breakfast, lunch, and dinner
I stayed in one of the larger suites during my first visit to Beaches Turks and Caicos. These rooms have a kitchen (a legacy item from its previous incarnation as a different hotel) and in-room laundry facilities. While I loved having this much space, you probably won’t be spending too much time in the room with so many fun activities at the resort.
Caribbean Village and Seaside Villages
The Caribbean and Seaside Villages share the same main lobby and reception area. This area is one of the largest and contains the kids’ camp area. It stretches from the beach to the French Village. This area has many great, convenient room options and is often the best choice for a family.
In addition to the beach access, these two villages have two pools —the Iguanas Pool (at the Iguana’s swim-up bar) and the Cascades Pool (by Arizona’s restaurant—also with a swim-up bar). There isn’t as much seating around these pools as there is by the French Village and Italian Village pools.
Room types at the Caribbean and Seaside Villages include:
- Caribbean Honeymoon Grande Luxe Double
- Caribbean Honeymoon Grande Luxe King
- Caribbean Honeymoon Luxury Concierge Suite
- Caribbean Deluxe Double
- Caribbean Deluxe King
- Caribbean Premium Walkout Room Double
- Seaside One Bedroom Concierge Suite
- Seaside Honeymoon One Bedroom Concierge Villa Suite
- Seaside Two Bedroom Luxury Butler Villa Suite
- Caribbean Penthouse One Bedroom Butler Suite
During our most recent stay, we booked the Seaside Honeymoon One-Bedroom Concierge Villa Suite for our family of four. Located in the Parrot Cay Villages (near the beach) it includes a bedroom and a living room with a day bed/trundle. We loved this room type – and it was nice to have the extra space so we weren’t all in one room.
Restaurant options in the Caribbean/Seaside Villages include:
- Arizona’s – Mexican buffet at lunch and sit down at dinner
- Bella Napoli Pizzeria – outdoor pizza eatery that you can eat there or take to the pool/beach
- Schooners Restaurant – seafood restaurant with mostly outdoor seating
- Sapodillas – a small adult-only restaurant serving Caribbean food
- Reflections – a full buffet restaurant
The Best Village at Beaches Turks and Caicos
I really don’t think there’s a “best” village. They all have benefits, although I think my favorites are the Key West Village, the Seaside Village, and the Italian Village.
General Tips for Beaches Turks and Caicos
Before choosing a room, it’s worth looking at options and prices. Room types can have large price variances, but remember that all guests can access all amenities and restaurants. So, you will still have a great time if you choose one of the lower-priced options. Think about how much you will use the room.
While my family has never booked a butler-level room, we enjoy having a cabana. You can get on the wait list for a cabana (for an additional fee) by checking with the concierge lounge in the Caribbean lobby. It’s more difficult to get cabanas at the Italian Village pool, but we have had luck at the pool by Arizonas.
If you are taking the complimentary shuttle from the airport, you’ll be brought directly to the reception area of your village. From there, you can check in and get your room. If you arrive early before your room is ready, they can store your luggage while you explore the resort. Changing facilities are available.
If you aren’t familiar with the resort before your visit, I recommend walking around all the villages. There’s a lot to see and do; you can easily miss something if you don’t explore.
